Syntype: “ Type. // SYN-TYPE // Type // Pretiotisima chevr. // Saunders 74·18. // NHMUK 014380338” .

Current status: Conognatha (Conognatha) pretiosissima Chevrolat, 1838 ( Moore & Lander, 2010).

Comments: A lectotype was designated by Moore & Lander (2010:80) and is labelled “Rio Grande, Brasil, coll. Chevrolat, coll. Kerremans, 1903 -59”. It is supposedly deposited in the British Museum Collection (NHMUK) but is at present not traceable in this collection.
