Holotype: “Holo-type // Typus // Conognatha Blairi. m. TYP. Det. Hoscheck 1931. // 2 // Jatahy Pujol // biocularis Thoms // Kerremans. 1903-59. // NHMUK 014380339 View Materials // Conognatha blairi Hoscheck, 1934 HOLOTYPE det. Pineda & Matsumoto, 2020”. Holotype here recognized .

Current status: Synonym of Conognatha (Conognatha) splendens Waterhouse, 1912 View in CoL ( Moore & Lander, 2010).

Comments: Hoscheck (1934:272) indicate that the type specimen measures 21,8 mm in length and 7 mm in width and bears the following information: “Jatahy (leg. Pujol)”. Original description also mentions that the type specimen comes from the British Museum, and that it was previously identified as C. biocularis Thomson by C. Kerremans. We recognized this specimen as holotype of Conognatha blairi Hoscheck, 1934 since it matches exactly the above-mentioned information, as well as its original description and photos of the type.
