One ♀ syntype with labels: “ ♀ Mexique, M H. d. Sauss.” [handwritten on ruled white card with “ Mexique ” printed]; “Gryllotal. azteca Sauss. ” [handwritten on green paper]; “ Syntypus ” [printed on red paper]. Specimen set with wings folded; most of both antennae and the last tarsal segment of the right hind leg are missing. A specimen much damaged by insect feeding may be a second syntype, but the other material placed under this name in the MHNG collection is not from Mexico, and mainly collected after the publication of the description.
