Basionym: Dendrochilum maleolens Kraenzl., Orchis 2: 63 (1908).

Homotypic synonym: Acoridium maleolens (Kraenzl.) Ames , Orchidaceae 7: 81 (1922).

Coelogyne malindangensis (Ames) M.W.Chase & Schuit. , comb. nov. Basionym: Dendrochilum malindangense Ames , Orchidaceae 2: 114 (1908). Notes: not Coelogyne malintangensis J.J.Sm. (Bull. Jard. Bot. Buitenzorg, sér. 3, 5: 26. 1922), which is native to Sumatra, whereas this species is native to the Philippines. In spite of the similarity of the epithets, these refer to places on two islands, Mt. Malindang on

Mindanao and Gunung Malintang on Sumatra, so they are not orthographic variants.
