TYPE LOCALITY: " China," restricted by Allen (1929) to "Canton, Kwangtung Province, South China, where the original specimen was secured by John Reeves."

DISTRIBUTION: India (Naga Hills near Manipur, Assam), to Taiwan; Hainan Isl, C and SE China, N Laos, and N Vietnam.

SYNONYMS: ferreo-griseus Hilzheimer, 1905; millsi Thomas, 1922 ; modesta Thomas, 1922; sorella G. M. Allen, 1929; subaurantiaca Swinhoe, 1862; taxilla Thomas, 1925 .
