TYPE LOCALITY: "Nalbani (c 8 km east of Calcutta), North Salt Lake, 24-Parganas district, West Bengal, India " .

DISTRIBUTION: India: West Bengal.

COMMENTS: Wenzel and Haltenorth (1972) speculated that this taxon may be conspecific with auropunctatus (= javanicus ); whereas Ewer (1973), based on Ghose's observation that palustris can emit scent similiar to urva speculated on such a relationship to urva .
