Variation. Mesoscutum centrally without whitish yellow mark ( Figs 12F–G View FIGURE 12 ) (vs. present); subtegular ridge and speculum black or with tiny whitish yellow spot ( Figs 12H–I View FIGURE 12 ) (vs. entirely whitish yellow); some specimens (6/17, all from La Rioja, Argentina) with scutellum black, centrally with two whitish yellow spots, sometimes touching each other ( Figs 12F–G View FIGURE 12 ) (vs. mostly whitish yellow); mesopleuron apical corner without a small whitish yellow mark (vs. present); propodeum on petiolar area without or with faint and incomplete or irregular whitish yellow mark ( Figs 12F–G View FIGURE 12 ) (vs. with an inverted T-shaped yellow mark); specimens from La Rioja ( Argentina) with metapleuron entirely black ( Fig.12I View FIGURE 12 ) (1/17) or with small or tiny whitish yellow spot posteriorly (7/17) (vs. dorsally with elongate mark); upper division of metapleuron black or with small whitish yellow mark (vs. whitish yellow); areolet about as long as wide (vs. rectangular, about 1.4 × as wide as high); hind wing nervellus intercepted distinctly above the middle (vs. about the middle); T1 apico-laterally with small dark yellowish marks ( Fig. 12G View FIGURE 12 ) (vs. with a broad white band).
Distribution. Argentina ( Fig. 20D View FIGURE 20 ). Bootstrap analysis suggests that this is the Agonocryptus species most strongly associated to high altitudes, occurring typically around 1100 m ( Fig. 21L View FIGURE 21 ).
