Rupicolous or terrestrial. Stem erect. Cataphylls and prophylls, green to brown, marcescent. Petiole 4.8–26.0 cm long, green, cylindrical, adaxially flattened, abaxially obtuse, geniculum 0.3–2.5 cm long. Leaf-blade 12.3–55.0 × 1.4–7.9 cm, green, discolorous, erect to the petiole, chartaceous, linear, oblong to lanceolate, with a flat surface, base frequently obtuse to acute, apex rostrate, rarely acute-apiculate, absence of glandular dots. Midrib prominent on both sides, obtuse on both sides, primary lateral veins adaxially visible, 7–18 on both sides, secondary and tertiary veins reticulate, basal vein absent, collective vein 0.3–0.6 cm distant from the margin. Inflorescence. Peduncle 20.5–34.6 cm long, green with pinkish shades at the base, adaxially flattened, abaxially obtuse. Spathe 4.9–12.6 × 0.4 cm, green, reflexed before anthesis, purple after anthesis. Spadix 5.5–21.4 cm long, homogeneous, purple in anthesis, brown after anthesis, cylindrical, stipe 0.2–0.9 cm long, bisexual flowers, yellow pollen grains, main spiral with 4–7 flowers; alternate spiral with 6–8 flowers, purple glossy berries, 2 seeds.

Distribution: — Anthurium longifolium is endemic to Brazil, occurring in Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo ( Flora do Brasil 2020). It was found at the Itajuru (Southern PESB), Muriqui, Trilha do Carvão, Pedra do Pato (central PESB), and Pico do Boné (northern PESB) trails.

Ecology and phenology: —According to Coelho et al. (2009), it flowers throughout the year, with berries from June to February. In the PESB, it was found in anthesis in February, June, July, and November, with ripe berries in November.

Taxonomic notes: —Distinguished from other Anthurium species found in the PESB by its pendent leaves and purple spadix and berries.
