Eusyllis dentata Hartmann-Schröder, 1990: 50 View in CoL , Figs. 13–16.

Material examined. Eusyllis lamelligera : ( MNCNM 16.01/3724, 8674 to 8709, 11436, 11455, 11484); Eusyllis fragilis : ( YPMNH 48977); Eusyllis habei : Paratype ( NMNST 46); Eusyllis tenera ( YPMNH 48974); Desmosyllis longisetosa : Holotype ( YPMNH 48973).

Distribution. North Eastern Atlantic (English Channel to Canary Islands), North Western Atlantic ( U.S.A. to Cuba) and Mediterranean Sea. Australia (Pacific Ocean). Japan.

Habitat. Photophilic algae; Posidonia oceanica rhizomes; sand; gravel; inside sponges and corals.

Remarks. The holotype of D. longisetosa was very opaque. Thus, it was not possible to observe clearly the denticled arc without dissecting it. However, all other characters agree with E. lamelligera , specially the chaetae, aciculae and laminar ventral cirri and so we assume that they are synonymous. An epigamic specimen showed a distinct dorsal colour pattern, with brown bands alternating with intersegmental, yellow-pigmented zones.
