Lingulatus dongping Lin & Li , sp. nov. ( Figs 27–28 View Figure 27 View Figure 28 , 46K–L View Figure 46 )

Etymology. The species is named after Dong Ping , one of the 108 outlaws in the classical Chinese literature Outlaws of the Marsh; noun in apposition.

Diagnosis. The male of the new species is similar to L. longfeiae Lin & Li , sp. nov. by the anterior tegular sheet being almost as long as the posterior tegular sheet, the dorsal tibial apophysis absent and the terminus of the retrolateral tibial apophysis has a hook. However, the new species can be distinguished from the latter by lacking a ventral tibial apophysis (vs. present in the latter), the ratio of the length of the retrolateral tibial apophysis to the cymbium is almost 1: 3 (vs. 1: 2 in the latter) and the anterior tegular sheet is directed toward the clock 1:30 position (vs. the clock 11: 30 in the latter). For the diagnosis of the female, see the diagnosis of the species L. chaijin Lin & Li , sp. nov.

Description. Male (holotype). Total length 2.15; carapace 1.13 long, 0.97 wide, opisthosoma 1.02 long, 0.67 wide. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.08, ALE 0.07, PME 0.06, PLE 0.07, AME–AME 0.03, AME–ALE 0.02, PME–PME 0.07, PME–PLE 0.05, AME–PME 0.08, ALE–PLE 0.07. Chelicerae with two promarginal and two retromarginal teeth. Leg measurements: I 4.95 (1.31, 1.80, 1.24, 0.60), II 3.73 (1.01, 1.27, 0.88, 0.57), III 3.30 (0.90, 1.01, 0.85, 0.54), IV 4.93 (1.36, 1.47, 1.40, 0.70). Leg spination: I femur 4pv, 2d, tibia 6-6v, metatarsus 4-4v; II femur 2pv, 1d, tibia 6-6v, metatarsus 4-4v, III femur 1d, IV femur 1d.

Coloration ( Fig. 46K View Figure 46 ). Carapace yellow to paler yellow, two black lines cross the carapace. Chelicerae yellow. Endites and labium yellow-brown. Sternum paler yellow. Legs paler yellow with black setae. Opisthosoma oval, dorsum yellow-brown, edge dark brown, dorsal scutum covering almost 3/4 of opisthosoma, ventrum paler yellow. Spinnerets yellow-brown.

Palp ( Fig. 27 View Figure 27 ). Femoral apophysis weak, almost three times longer than width of patella, with groove. Patella almost as long as wide. Ventral and dorsal tibial apophyses absent. Retrolateral tibial apophysis large, almost as long as tibia, with a small hook-shaped tip. Cymbium two times longer than wide. Bulb oval. Sperm duct U-shaped. Tegular apophysis triangular, small. Anterior tegular sheet short, almost 1/3 length of embolus, arising at clock 1:00 position. Posterior tegular sheet as long as anterior tegular sheet, arising at clock 6:00 position. Embolus with broad base and pointed tip, sickle shaped.

Female (IZCAS-Ar43909). Total length 3.25; carapace 1.41 long, 1.16 wide, opisthosoma 1.84 long, 1.13 wide. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.09, ALE 0.09, PME 0.08, PLE 0.09, AME–AME 0.03, AME–ALE 0.02, PME–PME 0.08, PME–PLE 0.04, AME–PME 0.08, ALE–PLE 0.07. Chelicerae with two promarginal and two retromarginal teeth. Leg measurements: I 5.68 (1.47, 2.17, 1.40, 0.64), II 4.37 (1.13, 1.57, 1.03, 0.64), III 3.67 (0.97, 1.18, 0.94, 0.58), IV 5.41 (1.43, 1.65, 1.50, 0.83). Leg spination: I femur 4pv, 2d, tibia 8-8v, metatarsus 4-4v; II femur 3pv, 1d, tibia 6-6v, metatarsus 3-3v, III femur 1d, IV femur 1d.

Coloration ( Fig. 46L View Figure 46 ). Similar to that of male except paler and lacking scutum on opisthosoma.

Epigyne ( Fig. 28 View Figure 28 ). Epigynal plate rectangular. Copulatory openings at middle of epigynal plate. Copulatory ducts inconspicuous. Bursae large, almost oval, wider than long, covering nearly half of epigynal plate. Glandular appendages short, transverse, directed ventrally. Spermathecae oblong, two times longer than fertilization ducts. Fertilization ducts directed at clock 1:30 position from spermathecae.
