Lingulatus zhangqing Lin & Li , sp. nov. ( Figs 35–36 View Figure 35 View Figure 36 , 47G–H View Figure 47 )

Etymology. The species is named after Zhang Qing, one of the 108 outlaws in the classical Chinese literature Outlaws of the Marsh; noun in apposition.

Diagnosis. The male of the new species is similar to L. pingbian by the long and slender dorsal tibial apophysis, the straight retrolateral tibial apophysis, and the posterior tegular sheet directed at the clock 4:00 position. However, the new species can be distinguished from L. pingbian by the absence of a ventral tibial apophysis (vs. present in L. pingbian ) and the thin embolus with a pointed tip (vs. wide and blunt in L. pingbian ). The female of the new species can be distinguished from all congeners by the L-shaped bursa and C-shaped spermatheca.

Description. Male (holotype). Total length 2.90; carapace 1.40 long, 1.16 wide, opisthosoma 1.50 long, 0.79 wide. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.06, ALE 0.08, PME 0.05, PLE 0.06, AME–AME 0.06, AME–ALE 0.02, PME–PME 0.05, PME–PLE 0.06, AME–PME 0.06, ALE–PLE 0.05. Chelicerae with one promarginal and two retromarginal teeth. Leg measurements: I 5.24 (1.39, 2.05, 1.23, 0.57), II 4.16 (1.11, 1.50, 0.97, 0.58), III 3.40 (0.88, 1.11, 0.85, 0.56), IV 5.41 (1.43, 1.68, 1.49, 0.81). Leg spination: I femur 4pv, 1d, tibia 7pv, 8rv, metatarsus 4-4v; II femur 2pv, 1d, tibia 6-6v, metatarsus 3pv, 4rv, III femur 1d, IV femur 1d.

Coloration ( Fig. 47G View Figure 47 ). Carapace dark brown, with black pattern. Chelicerae, endites and labium brown. Sternum yellow-brown. Legs paler yellow with black setae, femora III and IV with black annulations. Opisthosoma oval, dorsum dark brown, dorsal scutum covering almost 2/3 opisthosoma, ventrum yellow. Spinnerets yellow.

Palp ( Fig. 35 View Figure 35 ). Femoral apophysis obvious, almost two times longer than width of patella, with groove. Patella almost as long as wide. Ventral tibial apophysis absent. Retrolateral tibial apophysis thick, pointed at end. Dorsal tibial apophysis long, almost two times longer than retrolateral tibial apophysis. Cymbium two times longer than wide. Bulb oval. Sperm duct U-shaped. Tegular apophysis semicircular. Anterior tegular sheet long, almost half length of embolus, arising at clock 12:00 position. Posterior tegular sheet inconspicuous, arising at clock 6:00 position. Embolus with broad base and pointed tip, prolaterally serrated, sickle shaped.

Female (IZCAS-Ar43946). Total length 3.82; carapace 1.53 long, 1.23 wide, opisthosoma 2.29 long, 1.30 wide. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.08, ALE 0.08, PME 0.07, PLE 0.09, AME–AME 0.05, AME–ALE 0.02, PME–PME 0.10, PME–PLE 0.07, AME–PME 0.07, ALE–PLE 0.07. Chelicerae with three promarginal and two retromarginal teeth. Leg measurements: I 5.60 (1.50, 2.24, 1.38, 0.48), II 4.32 (1.16, 1.55, 0.99, 0.62), III 3.39 (0.95, 1.04, 0.84, 0.59), IV 5.34 (1.48, 1.63, 1.52, 0.71). Leg spination: I femur 4pv, 1d, tibia 7pv, 8rv, metatarsus 4-4v; II femur 2pv, 1d, tibia 6-6v, metatarsus 3pv, 4rv, III femur 1d, IV femur 1d.

Coloration ( Fig. 47H View Figure 47 ). Similar to that of male except lacking scutum on opisthosoma.

Epigyne ( Fig. 36 View Figure 36 ). Epigynal plate oval. Epigynal teeth present. Copulatory openings obvious, at middle of epigynal plate. Copulatory ducts inconspicuous. Bursae large, L-shaped, two times wider than long, covering nearly 3/4 of epigynal plate. Glandular appendages obvious, almost transverse. Spermathecae long, strongly curved, separated. Fertilization ducts directed at clock 11:00 position from spermathecae.

Material examined. Holotype ♂ (IZCAS-Ar43936), Vietnam: Ninh Binh, Cuc Phuong National Park, Natural Forest , Pitfall traps, 1–30 May 2007, Dinh-Sac Pham leg. Paratypes. 5♂ 5♀ (IZCAS-Ar43937–Ar43946), same data as holotype .
