Lasianthus longisepalus E.T.Geddes (1928: 245) . Type:— THAILAND. Chanthaburi, Khao Soi Dao , 12 December 1924, Kerr 9632 (holotype K! [K000777035]; isotype BM! [K001191355]).

Lasianthus longisepalus var. jianfengensis H.S.Lo (1993: 4) . Type :— CHINA. Hainan, Hainan Exped. 203 (holotype IBSC!).

Distribution: —Widespread in tropical and subtropical regions in Asia ( Cambodia, China, Thailand). In Vietnam, it occurs in Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Kon Tum, and Lam Dong.

Habitat & Ecology: —Growing under the shade of the canopy in primary and secondary forests at 1000–2000 m elev.

Phenology: —Flowering and fruiting from June to December.

Vernacular name: —Xú hưƠng chevalieri.

Notes: — Lasianthus chevalieri was described by Pitard (1924) from a Vietnamese specimen (A. Chevalier 30838). This species was easily identified in the field in having elliptic-oblong leaves, secondary veins 9–11 on each side of midrib, calyx lobes 9–14 mm long, and fruits subglobose, crowned by long calyx lobes, pilose, orange when ripe.
