Type: — VIETNAM. Gia Lai Province, K’Bang District, Son Lang Commune, Kon Chu Rang Nature Reserve , 1000–1100 m elev., 22 April 2021, Van-Son Dang, Ba Vuong Truong, Minh Quan Dang & Nghia Son Hoang, Dang 453 (holotype VNM! [ VNM00042916 View Materials ]; isotypes HN!, VNM! [ VNM00042917 View Materials , VNM00042918 View Materials ]) .

Specimens examined: — VIETNAM. Central: Gia Lai Province, K’Bang District, Son Lang Commune, Kon Chu Rang Nature Reserve , 1050 m elev., 25 April 2021, Van-Son Dang, Ba Vuong Truong, Minh Quan Dang & Nghia Son Hoang, Dang 453a ( VNM) .

Distribution: —Endemic to Vietnam (currently known only at Kon Chu Rang Nature Reserve of Gia Lai Province).

Habitat & Ecology: — Lasianthus naikii grows under the shade of the primary evergreen forest at an elevation of 1000–1100 m.

Phenology: —Flowering and fruiting from February to August.

Vernacular name: —Xú hưƠng naiki.

Notes: — Lasianthus naikii was described from a Vietnamese specimen (Dang 453, VNM) by Dang et al. (2022). It is similar to L. formosensis Matsum. (1901: 17) , but differs from the latter in having less than secondary veins, bracts present (vs. absent), longer calyx tubes, and corolla lobes 6 (vs. 5).
