Type species: Cytoleichus penrosei Weidman, 1917 , by original designation.
Diagnosis. With characteristics of family.
Species included: P. jellisoni , P. penrosei , P. tiollaisi , P. banksi (?).
Host range and distribution. Species of this genus parasitize the lungs of rodents in Europe and North America (see Table 6).
