Sympycnodes digitata group

This group consists of six new species, which are characterized by their greyish brown forewings that are covered with numerous small black specks and one or, more usually, two or three large distinct, smooth round or ovate spots. They differ from members of the S. epicycla group by the absence of strigulae running perpendicular to the midline and by the presence of a crista on the edge of the valva. Nothing is known about the larval foodplants of this species group.
