Dipsas sazimai Fernandes, Marques and Argôlo, 2010 View in CoL “Dormideira”

(Figs. 14.5 and 27.2)

It was recorded only in the state of Bahia, municipalities of Elísio Medrado (Serra da Jibóia), Jequié, and Miguel Calmon in Atlantic Forest contact areas up to 300 m elevation. It was previously recorded only in the Atlantic Forest, from Alagoas to São Paulo, also in high altitudes (Fernandes et al. 2010). Isolated populations in the Caatinga seem to have a restricted distribution in Diamantina Plateau complex, where it probably inhabits forested areas, the typical habitat of its congeners ( Peters 1960). In contact areas it can be found in xerophitic vegetation next to the Atlantic Forest. It has arboreal habits, is nocturnal, and feeds on mollusks (Fernandes et al. 2010).
