Thamnodynastes cf. nattereri (Mikan, 1828) . “Jararaquinha”

First record in the Caatinga. It is known only from the municipality Miguel Calmon, Bahia State. This single specimen was collected on the slopes towards the Diamantina Plateau , 532 to 800 m elevation. It is also recorded to the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado (Franco & Ferreira 2003). It may inhabit open areas chacterized by open grasslands and savannas (F. Franco pers. comm.). The species has semi-arboreal habits, is nocturnal and feeds on frogs (Franco & Ferreira 2003).
