Specimens.

Protobaetisca bechlyi Staniczek, 2007 [type species; nymph, holotype SMNS 66620]; P. bechlyi Staniczek, 2007 [putative adult of unknown sex; SMF VI 993].

Type locality and horizon.

Vicinity of Nova Olinda, southern Ceará state, northeast Brazil; upper Aptian, Lower Cretaceous, Nova Olinda Member, Crato Formation, Santana Group, Araripe Basin.

Revised diagnosis.

As for type species, since monotypic (see below); modified based on Staniczek (2007) and characters redescribed in nymph and described in putative adult.
