Dimensions. ♀ Long. 36 mm. [♂ lectotype 29.34; 36.00; ♀ paralectotype 28.73; 36.84]
Oldest label. Solpuga capitulata Karsch , ♂ ♀, Original ex., Dr. G. A. Fischer l., Soc. Geogr. C. 19.I. 85, Ebene am Longidoberge ( Kraepelin handwriting).
Additional label. Solpuga capitulata Karsch , 1♂, 1♀ —Typus—O. Afrika, Roewer revid. 1932— No. 8518 ( Roewer handwriting).
Type material. Lectotype ♂, paralectotype ♀ juvenile designated here (ZMH-A0000749).
Taxonomic remarks. Contra Weidner (1959: 111) ♂ holotype and ♀ paratype.
Collection remarks. The type locality refers to the flatlands at the base of Mount Longido in northern Tanzania. See Ceroma ornatum for additional details.
Current systematic position. Solpugidae , Zeria capitulata ( Karsch 1885) .
