Type locality and specimens. Fundangabe: Keetmannshoop; W. Krause, Aug. 1912. Von dieser neue Art […] liegt mir ein ♂ und ein ♀ von Keetmannshoop vor, die Herr W. Krause gesammelt. Hamburger Museum.
Dimensions. Der Truncus des ♂ ist 17 mm lang, der des ♀ 24 mm. [♂ lectotype 18.89; 22.37; ♀ paralectotype 27.73; 37.00]
Oldest label. Solpuga alcicornis Kr , ♂ ♀ Typus!, W. Krause l. Dr. W. Meyer d. VIII.12, Keetmannshoop, D.S.W. Afr. (Kraepelin handwriting).
Additional label. Solpuga alcicornis Krpl. 1♂, 1♀ —Typus—S. W. Africa, Keetmannshoop. Roewer revid. 1932— No. 8515 ( Roewer handwriting).
Type material. Lectotype ♂, paralectotype ♀ here designated (ZMH-A0000187). Damaged, most legs detached from body.
Collection details. The type locality is the city of Keetmannshoop in Ilkaras, Namibia (then Deutsch Südwestafrika).
Current systematic position. Solpugidae , Solpuguna alcicornis ( Kraepelin 1914) .
