Type locality and specimens. Fundangabe: Farm Voigtsland, ca. 38 km östlich von Windhuk; W. Michaelsen, 19. Mai 1911.
Dimensions. ♀ In Hinblick auf die charakteristische Färbung des nur 11 mm (ohne Mandibeln) langen Tierchens. [9.90; 12.50]
Oldest label. Solpuga striata n. sp. ♀ Typus! (Kraepelin handwriting).
Additional label 1. Solpuga striata n. sp. Typus ♀ [written later, different ink] W. Michaelsen l. 1911, Windhuk (unknown handwriting).
Additional label 2. Hamb. Dtsch-s.w. afr. Studienr. 1911. Farm Voigsland a.d. Bismarck-Bergen (38 km O Windhuk) W. Michaelesen leg. 16.–19.v.1911.
Type material. Holotype ♀ juvenile (ZMH-A0000189).
Collection remarks. The holotype was collected from Farm Voigtsland which is now the Guesthouse Vogtland at the B6 northeast of Windhoek.
Current systematic position. Solpugidae , Zeria striata ( Kraepelin 1914) .
