Taxonomic remarks. G. rickmersi is currently considered a junior synonym of G. ferganensis ( Harvey 2003) based on Birula (1907) who synonymised Gylippus syriaceus ferghanensis and G. rickmersi but incorrectly prioritises the second name ( Harvey 2013).
Collection remarks. The type locality is Bukhara in Uzbekistan. Roewer (1933) also mentiones G. rickmersi in a key and gives the distribution as ‘mountainous regions of East-Turkestan and Bukhara’.
Current systematic position. Gylippidae , Gylippus (Anoplogylippus) ferganensis Birula 1893 .
