Hemiblossia kalaharica Kraepelin 1908b View in CoL
Kraepelin 1908b: 279–280 (as Hemiblossia kalaharica n. sp.)
Type locality and specimens. Die bei Khakhea in der Kalahari erbeutete Art liegt leider nur in einem einzigen weiblichen Exemplar und einem Pullus vor.
Dimensions. Länge des Truncus 11,5 mm.
Older label. Hemiblosssia Kalaharica Krpln, pull. Co-Type, L. Schultze l., c. IV.08, Kakir, Kalahari (Kraepelin handwriting).
Additional label. Hemiblossia Kalaharica Krpln , 2♀ — Kalahari, revid. 1931 Roewer No. 8280 ( Roewer handwriting).
Type material. Syntype 2♀ juvenile (ZMH-A0000184). 1♀ dissected, missing the palp and chelicerae.
Taxonomic remarks. Kraepelin explicity stated that only one female and one juvenile were available for the description. There are two juvenile specimens at the ZMH that are much smaller than the one mentioned in the description. There is a female “ syntype ” in SMF (catalog no. 6858) that consists of a palp and chelicerae on a microscope slide. These almost certainly belong to one of the juvenile females at ZMH that is missing the palp and the chelicerae. Moritz & Fischer (1980) mentioned that the holotype is located in the ZMB (catalog no. 15620). This specimen was examined and matches in body size. It also has the Kraepelin label and should be declared as the lectotype.
Current systematic position. Daesiidae , Hemiblossia kalaharica Kraepelin 1908b .
