The genus Ethra sensu McDermott (1964) , includes species with a flabellate antenna, with very elongate lamellae (>5x longer than core antennomere). When disturbed, males emit the typical grass-like scent of many fireflies (e.g. Lloyd 2002). Females and immature stages unknown. Ongoing phylogenetic work (Silveira et al. submitted) suggests this genus comprises an artificial group, including species with very different affinities.
