Type material.
ZMB collection contains six specimens (presumably syntypes) of this variety from Westerlund’s collection. The largest of them is 24.2 mm height ( Lindström [1868] reported the maximum shell height for this variety equal to 30 mm). The current location of other shells from the type series is unknown.
Type locality.
Baltic Sea, east shores of the Gotland Island ( Östergarn, Legraf, Haugröne and Fårosund).
Current taxonomic allocation.
Lymnaea (Lymnaea) stagnalis . This variety represents a dwarf morph of the great pond snail inhabiting the Baltic Sea ( Westerlund 1885).
