Type depository: Zoologisk Museum, Copenhagen.

Type locality: Rotorua, NEW ZEALAND.

Habitat: dry moss on ground under Manuka shrub in thermal [springs] area.

Note: S. patella Hammer, 1966 is a junior homonym of S. patella (Berlese, 1886) and was renamed by Balogh and Balogh (2002)
