Diagnosis. Small to medium sized moths. Frons with conical protuberance. Labial palpi relatively short, 3 rd segment short. Male antennae filiform. Proboscis developed. Thorax with crest (sometimes not strongly expressed), abdominal crest in somewhat groups also present. Forewing often narrow, with arched basal part of costa and parallel costal and inner margins, or broader, with outer margin perpendicular to inner margin. Hindwing broad, M2 on hindwing reduced. Wing and body coloration often green or with greenish tint or marks; scaling smooth, somewhat species with erect scales in dark elements of forewing; wings often with strong shine.

In male genitalia uncus often reduced, rudimentary or short and week; in some groups long, slender, or broad, flattened. Tegumen always narrow, long, in some groups moderate or short. Vinculum narrow, usually short, weak. Juxta more or less triangular, with triangular or rounded basal plate and often with more or less developed apical extension. Valva elongate, usually narrow; cucullus tapering, armed with a field of strong spine-like setae, or at least a few bristles or with stronger extension at apex; in some species-groups distal part of valva broad, costa with large or small extension. Sacculus regularly smooth, rather short, but in some cases long, with pointed flat extension. Harpe always absent, its basal plate (clasper) present. Anal tube rounded, weakly sclerotized, but in some species forming strongly sclerotized scaphium. Aedeagus relatively short and broad; carina in some cases with scobinated plate; vesica rather short, broadly tubular, recurved, often with diverticula; a part of the known species armed with strong cornutus or with spine-like small cornuti arranged into field; in some cases with narrow sclerotized bar.

In female genitalia ovipositor short, weak; papillae anales sometimes elongate; antrum sclerotized, flat, medium long or long, cup-shaped or quadrangular; ductus bursae often short, flattened, variably sclerotized, smooth or folded, in some cases long, tubular, sclerotized; cervix bursae variable, from small to large, membranous to heavily sclerotized, bearing fold or crests; corpus bursae usually elongate, membranous.

The genus presently includes 61 species arranged in 14 species groups. In the checklist the taxa known only from Taiwan are marked by asterisks.
