Taxonomy. Murina huttoni [sic] fuscus [sic] Sowerby, 1922 ,

Imienpo area, Kirin, Manchuria, China.

Murina fusca may prove to be merely ajunior synonym of M. hilgendorfi , although the only known specimen is apparently very distinctive; further analysis is needed. Originally described as a race of M. huttonii , but does not appearto be closely related to it. Monotypic.

Distribution. Known only from the type locality in Heilongjiang, NE China. View Figure

Descriptive notes. Head—body 58 mm, tail 34 mm, ear 18 mm, hindfoot 8 mm, forearm 40 mm (type specimen). Dorsal pelage is dusky brown with longer whitish guard hairs interspersed throughout, giving an almost grayish tinge; ventrally paler. Dorsal fur extends onto base of wings, uropatagium, thumbs, and feet. Skull is robust but lacks a sagittal crest; occiput does not noticeably project backwards.

Habitat. The type specimen was collected in a house in late September.

Food and Feeding. No information.

Breeding. No information.

Activity patterns. The type may have been hibernating in or near the house where it was captured.

Movements, Home range and Social organization. No information.

Status and Conservation. Classified as Data Deficient on The IUCN Red List. The only known specimen was collected about a century ago. Virtually nothing is known aboutit.
