CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [ teste Sabrosky (1999: 268) ].

FAMILY: TABANIDAE .

REMARKS: Originally proposed in synonymy with Rhinomyza edentula Wiedemann, 1828 . Made available by usage as a valid taxon before 1961 (e.g., Bigot, 1856).
