Distribution and hosts. Sprattia capilliformis is known from the little northern quoll, D. hallucatus , in the Northern Territory and the Chuditch, D. geoffroii , in the northern Kimberly region of Western Australia but remains unknown from the spotted–tailed quoll, D. maculatus , and the eastern quoll, D. viverrinus , in southeastern Australia.
Remarks. This is the first described of the three species of Sprattia each occurring, in all likelihood, in the small blood vessels of a single host species in each of three families of marsupials, the Dasyuridae , Peramelidae and Phalangeridae , and occurring predominantly in the northern half of the continent.
