Range: —Central America; northern tropical South America; Andes from Venezuela to Bolivia (LP); Brazil (Roraima); 850–1500 m.

Ecology: —Rare; epiphytic, in lower montane rain forests; 1500 m, 850–1500 elsewhere.

Notes: —This is the most slender species in the group of Phlegmariurus linifolius .
