Range: —Eastern Andean slope from Ecuador to Bolivia (LP).
Ecology: —Uncommon; pendulous epiphyte in lower montane forests; 850–1500 m.
Notes: — Phlegmariurus ericifolius is related to P. aqualupianus (Spring) B.Øllg. (Antilles, northern Venezuela to northwestern Colombia). Phlegmariurus ericifolius usually differs by its narrower, more acute expanded leaves in whorls of three, while P. aqualupianus usually has ovate, subacute to obtuse, decussate expanded leaves.
