Etymology. The specific name refers to the collection locality of the holotype; noun in apposition.

Diagnosis. Males of S. juruti sp. nov. resemble those of S. picta by the palpal tibia with strong medial-retrolateral spine ( Figs 104 View FIGURES 102–108 , 124 View FIGURES 122–127 ). They are distinguished from the latter species by the spine two times longer than wide (at least three times longer than wide in S. picta ) ( Fig. 104 View FIGURES 102–108 ). They are further distinguished from all other species of the genus by TBE reduced and embolus with sub-distal pointed projection ( Fig. 105 View FIGURES 102–108 ). Females resemble those of S. humaita sp. nov. by the epigyne with anterior atrium grooved ( Figs 83 View FIGURES 80–85 , 106 View FIGURES 102–108 ). They are distinguished from the latter species by atrium rounded anteriorly (trapezoid in S. humaita sp. nov.) ( Fig. 106 View FIGURES 102–108 ), internal ducts slender, half spermathecae width, and first turn posteriad (internal ducts as wide as spermathecae width and first turn mediad S. humaita sp. nov.) ( Figs 107–108 View FIGURES 102–108 ).

Description. Male (holotype): Prosoma dark brown suffused with darker brown marbled pattern laterally; fovea dark brown; eye borders black. Chelicerae dark brown. Legs and pedipalps pale brown. Labium and endites yellowish brown, distally lighter. Sternum pale yellowish brown with darker margins. Opisthosoma dark brownish gray; dorsally with dense brown pattern of elongate marks laterally and around cardiac mark and 5–6 median chevrons down posterior half; ventrally with dense pattern of elongated marks laterally and irregular rounded marks medially; muscle sigilla inconspicuous ( Figs 93–94 View FIGURES 93–96 ). Total length 6.5. Prosoma: 3.3 long, 2.8 wide. Opisthosoma: 3.1 long, 1.8 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.24, 0.18, 0.15, 0.19; interdistances: 0.12, 0.06, 0.27, 0.18, 0.15, 0.07. Legs (1/243): I: 10.8 (3.2, 1.5, 2.7, 2.6, 0.8); II: 10.8 (3.0, 1.5, 2.9, 2.6, 0.8); III: 8.7 (2.7, 1.3, 1.9, 2.1, 0.7); IV: 10.0 (2.9, 1.2, 2.4, 2.6, 0.9). Spination follows the generic pattern. Metatarsus III–IV with ventral distal preening combs. Palp: tibia with prolateral spines long; vRTA small, rounded in retrolateral view; mRTA triangular, distally rounded in ventral view and fin-shaped in retrolateral view, arising closer to vRTA; tegulum retrolaterally indented, without retro-proximal protrusion; TBC wide, keel-like; TBE with apical projection small, short and laminar ( Figs 97–99 View FIGURES 97–101 , 102–105 View FIGURES 102–108 ).

Description. Female (paratype, MPEG 30653): Coloration pattern as in male, except opisthosoma densely covered by irregular elongate marks, 5–6 barely distinguishable median chevrons on posterior half and one pair of rounded pale brown muscle impressions on each side of cardiac mark; ventrally with elongate marks laterally and three median, wide, longitudinal stripes converging into irregular cup-shaped mark; muscle sigilla inconspicuous ( Figs 95–96 View FIGURES 93–96 ). Total length 7.6. Prosoma: 3.3 long, 3.0 wide. Opisthosoma: 4.2 long, 2.5 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.25, 0.22, 0.13, 0.20; interdistances: 0.20, 0.12, 0.36, 0.27, 0.16, 0.07. Legs (4213): I: 9.3 (2.8, 1.6, 2.3, 2.1, 0.5); II: 9.5 (3.1, 1.6, 2.2, 2.1, 0.5); III: 8.4 (2.6, 1.4, 1.9, 2.0, 0.5); IV: 10.0 (2.8, 1.3, 2.3, 2.8, 0.8). Spination follows the generic pattern, except metatarsi I–III: v2-0-0. Metatarsus III–IV with ventral distal preening combs. Epigyne: epigynal field sub-rectangular, longer than wide, rounded anteriorly; median septum 1.5 times longer than wide, widest medially with posterior margin rounded ( Figs 100 View FIGURES 97–101 , 106 View FIGURES 102–108 ). Vulva: glandular projection rounded, arising from duct between copulatory opening and first turn; spermathecae elongate, irregular-shaped ( Figs 101 View FIGURES 97–101 , 107–108 View FIGURES 102–108 ).

Variation. Males (n = 10): total length 5.5–6.6; prosoma length: 2.9–3.3; femur I length 2.6–3.2. Females (n = 10): total length 6.1–9.2; prosoma length 3.1–3.6; femur I length 2.4–3.0.

Distribution. Known from Brazil, western state of Pará, in the lower Amazon region ( Fig. 143 View FIGURES 143–144 ).
