Holotype male [a single specimen in original description, assumed as holotype] in MCZC (n° 22521) [in Peck, 1971a; who detected the type is not a female as stated by Jeannel, 1936, who did not dissect the specimen and was mislead by the narrow protarsomeres].
Type locality: Cienfuegos [Soledad, in Peck, 1971a, at the old Atkins Botanical Garden, near Cienfuegos, in Peck, 1999b: 609], [Cienfuegos Province], Cuba.
Distribution: Cuba: Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba Provinces. Biology: Upland and lowland forest inhabitant.
