Jeannel, 1936: 107 (type male illustrated), 1957: 43, 1962: 501 (redescription); Szymczakowski, 1970: 329 (no new data); Salgado, 2006: 88; Seago, 2009: 18 (redescription).
Holotype male [a single specimen in original description, assumed as holotype] in MNHN [in Jeannel, 1936 and Seago, 2009; original description refers to Portevin collection]. Type locality: “ Chile ”.
Distribution: Argentina: Neuquén Province (AFN, personal data); Chile: Aisén (AFN, personal data), Arauco, Cautín, Chiloé, Concepción, Llanquihue, Malleco, Ñuble, Osorno, Quillota, Santiago, Talca, and Valdivia Provinces.
Note: Preliminary study suggests this species is the sister to the other members of the genus and some Australian genera (Seago, 2009: 61).
