Type Locality: Cuba, Habana, Guanabacoa.

Vernacular Names: Cuban Fig-eating Bat.

Subspecies: :

Subspecies Phyllops falcatus subsp. falcatus Gray 1839

Subspecies Phyllops falcatus subsp. haitiensis J. A. Allen 1908

Distribution: Cuba; Hispaniola; as fossil, Isle of Pines ( Cuba).

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (nt).
