- The ratio of pt/ant III and pt/base VI is greater in apterae than in alatae;
- Head spicules of alate females only underneath ocelli;
- Antennal tubercles of alatae and apterae converging;
- Distal swelling of siphunculi with medial constriction in alatae;
- Wings are shorter, but the wing area is larger than in M. p. nicotianae .
