This species was described in Ergana Chapuis, 1879 and Laboissière transferred it to Pimentelia in the paper where this genus was originally described ( Laboissière 1939). Allocation to a genus is somewhat difficult, since the only available specimen from Angola is a female. External characters show that it is not closely related to Pimentelia and do not belong to this genus.
