Diagnosis (male). Scutum and pleural regions dark brown; hind tibia with 6–8 posterodorsal setae; forefemur anterior and posterior face with oval patch of setulae; dorsum of midfemur anterior face with oval patch of setulae. Geographical distribution. From south of Brazil to Costa Rica ( Fig. 71 View FIGURE 71 ).
Hypopygium description ( Figs. 47–50 View FIGURES 47 – 50 ). Left epandrial process large, with two apical setose lobes. Hypandrium bilobed, with triangular protuberances at apex. Hypoproct with three setae.
Comments. The examined specimens of C. palpalis from Costa Rica, Brazil (Rondonia) and Ecuador have a longer patch of setulae on the anterior face of the forefemur, similar to a stripe (fig. 16), differently from the holotype that has an oval patch (fig. 15). They were not considered a different species as no other significant differences were found.
