Holotype M: Manaus , Amazonas, Brazil ( NMNH) (Type locality corrected from "Manaos" to "Manaus").
Distribution in South America: Brazil, French Guiana.

This species was included in the taxonomic revision of Spissipes Section by Sallum & Forattini (1996). Ecological notes in Forattini et al. (1995).
