Material examined. Babek, Goynuk , 39°18′N, 45°40′E, 1680 m, 12. VI GoogleMaps .2019, 1 ♂ [ CAFK] .

Distribution. Western, Southern, and Eastern Europe, North Africa, Russia (European part, Urals, Western Siberia, Eastern Siberia, Far East), Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Syria, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China, North America.

Remarks. The complete synonymy is not listed here. There are two additional synonyms and three subspecies of Pseudepipona herrichii (de Saussure, 1856) besides the nominotypical one ( Giordani Soika 1970b; van der Vecht & Fischer 1972; Gusenleitner 1977, 1998c; Krombein 1979). They require a revision. The examined specimen from Azerbaijan differs from the typical form by both the coloration and punctation. It has yellow pattern on the body instead of a whitish one ( Figs 27–28 View FIGURES 27–28 ); punctures on T2 are remarkably coarser than in the typical form. Furthermore, the posterior end of T2 is bent upwards ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 27–28 ) that is not found in the examined specimens of P. herrichii from elsewhere. The genitalia of the examined male are, however, rather typical of this species (comparative male specimens from the Crimea were examined). It is possible that this specimen corresponds to Pseudepipona herrichii var. derufata Blüthgen, 1951a described from Armenia (type locality: “ Eriwan ”) which is treated as a synonym of the nominotypical subspecies ( van der Vecht & Fischer 1972).
