The brief description of Macquart will not apply to any known species. It was referred by Theobald to the synonymy of Stegomyiafasciata, but Macquart's description of the legs (hind tibiae with a broad white ring before the tip; hind metatarsi white, with a narrow black ring) makes the reason for this far from obvious.
