proportion of medial veins. In P. notabilis , the vein M1+2 is 2.5 times as long as M1 (vs. 1/2 for P. trinervis ) and dcell is about 1/7 of the length of wing (vs. about 1/8 for P. trinervis ). Both species were described from Kubekovo ( Russia)—Middle Jurassic.

Praearchitipula lata Kalugina, 1985 ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 B), known also from Kubekovo, has been described based on a partially preserved wing. Comparing Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 A and 1B, we cannot identify significant venational differences between these two fossils. Hence, we suggest treating P. lata as a junior synonym of P. notabilis .
