Type locality: S 1978/119, open half-natural well near Post Office of Spanish Town , Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands (18°26’42” N, 64°26’26” W). Holotype (♀)— ZMA, Ost. 150.582.

In Venezuela: at the following localities according to Broodbakker (1983d): FALCÓN State —S 1982/500, source transformed into well in “Las Luisas” (emend., not “ La Luisa ”), Morrocoy Peninsula (10°52’03” N, 68°19’27” W) ; S 1982/522, hole dug in sandy sediments along the banks of Mitare River, 100 meters downstream from the source of the river, a large karst spring near Cabure, Sierra de San Luis (11°08’24” N, 69°38’38” W) . LA GUAIRA State (emend., = Vargas State, formerly Distrito Capital)—S 1982/535, hole dug in fine gravel and coarse sand along the banks of a trickle crossing the road, at 2.5 km from “Caruao” (emend., not “Curuao”) in the direction of Los Caracas, in the forest (10°36’46” N, 66°22’04” W [emend., not “65°22’04” W”]); S 1982/537, hole dug in coarse gravel and sand between large stones, along the bank of a brook crossing the road, at 7.5 km from “Caruao” (emend., not “Curuao”) in the direction of Los Caracas (10°36’58” N, 66°23’32” W) . ARAGUA State —S 1982/573, hole dug in coarse sand and gravel along the banks of the Zuata River, 2 km north of San Casimiro (10°00’12” N, 66°59’47” W) .

Remarks: geographical distribution includes St. Martin, British Virgin Islands ( Virgin Gorda), Puerto Rico (Vieques), Haiti, and Venezuela ( Broodbakker 1984a).
