Caulis teres, laevis; aculeis recurvis. Petioli teretes aculeis recurvis. Folia ternata, intermedio pedicellato, ovata, inciso-serrata, subtus albo-tomentosa. Racemus terminalis. Fructus niger, variat etjam fructu rubro. magis acido quam R. idaei. Differt imprimis a R. idaeo, cui simillimus, petiolis teretibus nec canaliculatis.
