Diagnosis. The male ninth abdominal tergite is similar to that of E. rugosifrons , but the apical margin of the subgenital plate is projecting between styli and reaching to tip of styli while in E. rugosifrons it is concave, not projecting.

Material examined. India: Tamil Nadu, Kodaikanal, leg. Decoly— 1 male (syntype) (Paris MNHN) .

Additional Description. Medium sized species. Tegmen reduced to a small convexity at ventral margin of mesonotum ( Fig. 62G View FIGURE 62 ).

Male. Eighth abdominal tergite dorsally prolonged. Ninth abdominal tergite down-curved; apical margin in middle with a pair of acute teeth that are longer and stouter than in E. rugosifrons ( Figs. 62 View FIGURE 62 E–F). Subgenital plate at base rather wide; after about basal third constricted; prolonged central part lobular with rounded tip; the laterally inserted styli reaching to about tip of subgenital plate ( Fig. 62E View FIGURE 62 ).
