Type locality. Germany, Halle (“Habitat Halae Saxonum Dom. Hybner”).
Material examined. None.
Identity. Archips xylosteana ( Linnaeus, 1758) ( Tortricinae , Archipini ).
Remarks. The tortricid literature places P. hybnerana as a synonym of Phalaena Tortrix xylosteana L. from Werneburg (1864) to Brown (2005), and that treatment is followed here. However, Beccaloni et al. (2005) suggests that it is a synonym of Elaphria venustula (Hübner) (Noctuidae) .
