COMMON NAME (S): Olive-tree Pearl or White Pearl. SYNONYM(S): Botys quinquepunctalis Boisduval, 1833 ; Pyralis unionalis Ḩbner, 1796; Margarodes septempunctalis Mabille, 1880e ; Margaronia transvisalis Guenée, 1854 .

Macedonia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Malta, Mauritius, Mozambique, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Poland,

Portugal, Réunion, Romania, Russia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland,

Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, Venezuela, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Kafue and Lusaka, in Lusaka Province. LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Host plants include: two Oleaceae species ( Jasminum officinale L. and J. sambac (L.) Aiton in the Réunion; one Oleaceae species ( J. dichotomum Vahl ) in the Democratic Republic of Congo; one Oleaceae species

( Olea europaea L.) in South Africa; one Oleaceae species ( J. fluminense Vell. ) in the Seychelles; three

Oleaceae species ( Ligustrum sp. , Fraxinus sp. and Phillyrea sp. ) in Turkey and one Oleaceae species ( J.

auriculatum Vahl.) in an unnamed African country or countries. The five Oleaceae species ( J. officinale

L., J. dichotomum Vahl , J. auriculatum Vahl. , J. sambac (L.) Aiton and Olea europaea L.) are also larval foodplants of the taxon ( African Moths 2019).
