COMMON NAME (S): Three Spotte Nephele Hawkmoth.

SYNONYM(S): Sphinx didyma Fabricius, 1781 ; Nephele pachyderma Karsch, 1892 .

IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).

DISTRIBUTION: Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Kafue and Lusaka , in Lusaka Province; Kasempa, in Northwestern Province ; Mufulira, in Copperbelt Province .

LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Larval foodplants include four Apocynaceae species ( Cryptolepis hypoglauca K.Schum. , Tacazzea apiculata Oliv. , Periploca nigrescens Afzel. and Mondia whitei (Hook.f.) Skeels ) ( African Moths 2019).
