COMMON NAME (S): Small Striped Hawk.
SYNONYM(S): Hippotion exclamationis Fawcett, 1915 ; Hippotion austrinum Jordan, 1930 ; Hippotion robur Jordan, 1938 .
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, S„o Tomé and Príncipe, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: University of Zambia (Lusaka) ** and Kafue, both localities in Lusaka Province .
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Larval foodplants include: one Vitaceae species ( Cissus sp. ) in South Africa ( van den Berg et al. 1975) and one Vitaceae species ( Cissus quadrangularis L.) in an unnamed African country or countries ( African Moths 2019). There are no larval foodplants reported for Zambian in the literature.
